Over the years, I have worn many hats. I grew up on a family farm in Iowa, and my first work experience was caring for our newborn calves. I’ve been a cashier, lab assistant, manager, and school secretary. However, my favorite role in life is as a wife and mother. I was fortunate to stay home with our boys in their early years and return to work later. I find myself home again – with time to devote to my other passion – writing.
I’ve always loved the written word; it inspires me. A word or phrase from a good book can stick with me for days. It can challenge my way of thinking, how I see myself, or how I view the world around me.
The opportunity to write energizes me. The thrill of developing a simple outline into a multipage research paper brought about a great sense of satisfaction in college. These days, however, writing has turned into a form of prayer. My daily prayer journals keep a record of my gratitude list, the concerns in my heart, and the wisdom He shares in return.
This blog is an extension of my prayer journal. It is an opportunity to share my inspirations from scripture and prayer to encourage you to develop a deeper prayer life. It is a place to reveal how God is intimately involved in my life to help you realize how He is active in your daily life.
I’m not exactly sure about the places we will go together, but I am eager to share the journey.
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path.
